Bruno releases new line of straight stairlift.
After a successful run of 7 model years, Bruno, our main stairlift supplier, has updated the Elan, our top selling straight rail stairlift.
Based on the very reliable SRE-3000 Elan drive platform, the new SRE-3050 Elan has a few design and styling revisions, including a more neutral warm gray color. As of November 4, we have sold out of the SRE-3000 Elan, and are now stocking/installing the new SRE-3050 Elan. So far, reviews are very
positive.

February, 2017 - January 2018
Benchmark owner installs elevator in his own house
In 2017, Benchmark's Co-owner, Scott Britton was involved in a major remodel of his own house in Napa, CA. No surprise, a home elevator was added. We found an old Cemcolift elevator originally installed in the Truckee Ranger Station in 1991. It had been removed by another contractor and we bought it from him. It was a big job restoring and modifying the somewhat old elevator, but worthwhile. Time had definitely taken it's toll on it, but with a lot of TLC, it now runs like a top!
Things to consider when choosing to remodel and add an elevator:
- Remodels and construction projects are costly and stressful. Not many people would choose to do it twice!
- Everything costs more than you think it will and takes twice as long.
- Home Elevators will take up about 5 feet square + wall thickness on all floors served.
- Most elevators require an additional machine room larger than your average closet
- A home elevator is usually the best solution for wheelchair-bound people
- A home elevator usually adds to the value of your home, whereas a wheelchair lift or stairlift probably does not.

November, 2012:
Benchmark Home Elevator celebrates significant anniversary
On November 8, 2012, we celebrated 5 years of being in business for ourselves! In typical Benchmark fashion, we celebrated the day by working our tails off. Brian and I have now been installing home elevators and accessibility equipment for nearly half our lives - since1991, and I can say with certainty that these last five have been by far the most challenging as well as the most rewarding. I am most thankful that we didn't know what a poor showing the economy had instore for us - if we had, our skepticism would have kept us from thesuccess we have enjoyed. My only regret is not starting even earlier!
2012 has been our best year by leaps and bounds and we are lookingforward to an even stronger 2013. Many thanks to our great customers!
